Founder-Director: Dr. G. K. Jayaram

Dr.G.K. Jayaram is the founder–Director of the Institute of Leadership & Institutional Development (ILID) at Bangalore. Dr. Jayaram is a consultant, teacher, and entrepreneur-businessman.

    Four decades of international professional experience in the following organizations:

  • Chief Mentor, Jawaharlal Nehru Leadership Institute, New Delhi

  • First Chairman of Infosys Technologies (1981-85)

  • Co-founded and was Chairman of Transformation Systems Inc, (Transys) – a software firm in Princeton, New Jersey in 1996; returned to India in December 2000

  • Creator- Director of Infosys Leadership Institute, Mysore (2001-03)

  • Arthur D Little, Cambridge, Mass., USA (1977-79; 1993-96)

  • Coopers and Lybrand, New York (1992-93)

  • Own Consulting firm – Princeton Center for Organizational Excellence - in the US for 20 years

  • Taught at Stanford Executive Development Program, UCLA, Naval Postgraduate School

  • Creator, Institute for Leadership & Organizational Development (ILOD) for National Commercial Bank, the largest bank in Jamaica

  • Founded the Institute of Leadership and Institutional Development (ILID), Bangalore in April 2004, present Director

    Educational background:

    Chakravarthy R Murrali

    Murrali, M.Sc (Agri)-Agricultural Economics, Certificated Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, has work experience of 30 years, 25 years in Canara Bank, a leading public sector bank in India and a 3-year stint in National Commercial Bank of Jamaica. Besides being a faculty in both the banks, has rich experience of branch and administrative functioning. His expertise lies in managing the credit portfolio comprising agriculture, retail banking, business and small industries. His specialization includes training in credit, finance and organizational behaviour. He has served as an internal consultant and has assisted in developing e-learning based training solutions.

    His experience is versatile encompassing both field level experience and administrative experience. But the key strength is in designing and conducting training programs not only in bank related subjects but also behavioral and managerial related training programs. The high point is being part of senior management team in successfully executing the plan for creation of Institute of Leadership and Organizational Development for National Commercial Bank of Jamaica. During this tenure, he has developed in integrated training and development approach. He has also developed perspective and experience in E learning based training and development solutions.  

    Naved Ahmad

    Arati Venkat

    With degrees in law and business, Arati’s career has spanned functions such as strategy, finance, compliance, quality, legal and corporate. With her unique skills, Arati was able to move across various entities of Dubai government as they were being formed, launched and developed.

    She has been on teams that launched Dubai Internet City and Dubai International Financial Centre and the exposure gave Arati a unique perspective into what goes into conceptualizing, starting and managing multi-billion dollar projects.

    Arati decided to enter the social sector as she feels her background and experience enable her to make a difference at the grassroots. She moved to Bangalore in 2011 with her husband Naved to become a full time social entrepreneur.

    Vani Arakere

    Vani Arakere, Program facilitator, is M.A.(psychology) and Diploma holder in PR. Has over 5 years experience asan English Trainer. She is currently involved in teaching basic to career oriented English language and soft skills training to employed and un-employed youth. She handles the design, curriculum development, sessions planning for the conduct of Ekalavya program besides doubling up as a trainer. She is also associated with teachers training for theother incubation program, Pygmalion. She has done corporate training as well for organizations like WIPRO TITAN Industries and NIKE/DHL.  

    Mahesh Chandra Edrami

    Mahesh, Office Administrator & Faculty is a B.Com (Gulbarga), MBA in Finance. He has higher Diploma in software engineering from APTECH. Has over 7 years experience as an Office Administrator & Faculty and has worked on various platforms like Windows 98/NT/2000/XP. He is a qualified in Tally software and is a trainer for imparting computer skills and Tally for the Ekalvya program. He also looks after the office administration, accounts, taxation, compilation of financial reports, project expenses and technology related aspects.  

    Soumya Mitra

    Is an MA in English Literature and a PG Diploma in HR. She has more than 12 years of experience across corporate and social sectors. She has edited a book on “Guide to Active Citizenship” which was released by the Governor of Karnataka. She has also written several articles which have been published in leading periodicals. She has handled corporate communication and been the editor of in-house newsletter at Accenture. She has very good communication skills and has been handling our Project Pygmalion for over 4 years now. She takes care of content development, training, monitoring and assessment of progress of Project Pygmalion in over 350 schools

    Gautham V S

    Is an MBA in Human Resource. He has rich experience in various facets of HR including induction, training and welfare programmes. He has over 15 years of experience in the field and has served as Head HR of a mid-sized software firm in Bangalore. He has also worked in Dubai for an International firm. He has good knowledge and expertise in behavioural training and implementation of Performance Management across various corporate His passion towards educating the underprivileged has turned into a profession and he is now the Managing Trustee of an NGO Achalabharathi which is implementing Project Pygmalion in schools.
